How to Use Daisy-Safe Drink Spike Protection coasters

Read carefully before using the DaisySafe drug detecting coaster:

How the test strip is performed:

  • Use both test spots on one side of the coaster to fully test your drink.
  • Make sure both test spots are dry, and free of condensation from the drink container.
  • Place drops of the beverage to be tested onto each spot using a swizzle stick or even one's finger.
  • Rub, gently. Do not mix the chemicals from each spot together. They should remain separated for best results. Wait until dry.

The test strip can take a few minutes to dry and get a result, be patient. If either spot turns to a DARK BLUE COLOR, a positive test result has occurred.

Many colored beverages will impart a slight hue to the test spots, this is not a positive result.

Tap water and certain mineral waters may impart a transient blue hue to the test spots while the test is drying. this is not a positive result, and should dissipate when dry.

When in doubt with any beverage, always discard. Always use common sense and NEVER LEAVE DRINK UNATTENDED.

NOT TO BE USED WITH ANY MILK PRODUCTS, OR BEVERAGES CONTAINING MILK PRODUCTS, CREME OR OILY LIQUORS. SOME FRUIT JUICES AND SOME WATERS MAY RENDER A FALSE POSITIVE RESULT.

What drugs does it detect?

This test is designed to detect gamma hydroxybutyrate (GHB) and ketamine in realistic concentrations, 3.0g / 250 ml and 1.0g /250ml respectively.

GHB (gammahydroxybutyrate):LIQUID ECSTASY, GEEBS, GBL, GBH, 4-BD, 1 : Salty-tasting clear fluid or white powder that is easy to make at home. Acts as a muscle relaxant and causes short-term amnesia when taken with alcohol. It produces a feeling of euphoria, reduce inhibitions and drowsiness. The effects start after about 10 minutes to an hour and can last for up to seven hours or so. Because GHB can really knock you out, it has been linked to drug assisted sexual assaults.

KETAMINE :VITAMIN K, SUPER K, SPECIAL K, K, GREEN, DONKEY DUST : A white powder that is mostly used on animals. It can cause a catatonic state and short-term amnesia. The effects do not last long, but until they wear off, ketamine can cause a loss of feeling in the body and paralysis of the muscles. It can also lead to you experiencing a distortion of reality/ hallucinating. You can 'trip' for between half an hour to several hours, and the after-effects may be felt for some hours afterwards.

Are the Coasters reusable?

No they are good for a single use. Each Coaster does contain 2 tests.

What should I do if I think I have been drugged?

Take action immediatley to be safe:

Talk to Someone You Trust Right Away

When you feel that there is a chance that you may have been drugged, the first thing you need to do is let someone you trust know what is going on. This allows them to help and you and potentially protect you from being injured. They will be able to monitor your reaction to the drugs and guard you if you end up passing out.

Drink Water as Quickly as You Can

Regardless of what drug you were given, drinking water is very important. There is a good chance that you will become dehydrated as your body absorbs the drug. Drinking water also allows you to start flushing the drugs out of your system. Be sure to get water from someone that you can trust and never set it down anywhere as someone could have the opportunity to drug you again.

Take Note of the Time

If possible, take a look at a clock to know what time you started to feel the symptoms that you are feeling. If you are fearful that you may not be able to remember the time, send a text to yourself. Text messages are time stamped so that you can know the exact time you noticed that something was wrong. Knowing what time, you started to feel the effects allows the medical professionals to estimate when you took the drugs.

Never Go Anywhere Alone

When you are drugged, you will not feel like yourself. It can be hard to protect yourself if need be. It’s important to remember that someone drugged you for a purpose. They are more than likely waiting for the drugs to take full effect before they make their move. If you need to use the restroom or simply go outside for fresh air, you shouldn’t go alone. Only go with someone that you trust so that you can rest assured they aren’t trying to take advantage of you. If someone that you don’t know tries to escort you anywhere alone, you shouldn’t go with them. It could serve as an opportunity for them to take advantage of you.

Seek Medical Care Immediately

Some people make the mistake of thinking that they should simply go home and wait for the effects of the drugs to wear off. This is never a good option. You don’t know how much of the drugs you ingested, if you are allergic to them and how they are going to affect you when they go into full effect.

You need to go to a hospital or urgent care right away.

Tests can be done to determine what drugs you were given, and they can give you care to flush the drugs out of your system right away. Your health will also be monitored to ensure that you are safe at all times. If you don’t seek medical help, you could accidentally overdose from the drugs you were given.

Alert the Authorities that You Were Drugged

After you seek medical care you need to report the incident to the authorities. You want to be sure that they can investigate to see if they can find who drugged you. If the authorities know where you were and when you noticed that you were drugged, they can go back to the scene of the crime. They can talk to the staff to see if they noticed anything strange taking place. They can also look through video footage at the location to see if there is anyone obviously putting something into your drink or food. This can better the chances of them identifying who drugged you.

Alert the Management at the Location Where the Drugging Took Place

When you are drugged in a bar or restaurant, it’s important to let the management know. They may have a history of people being drugged in their establishment and be able to let you know who the person is. It will also allow them to be on alert to decrease the chances of someone else being drugged in the future. It could lead to you protecting someone from being assaulted in the future.

Take Time to Recover Safely

Everyone recovers from being drugged differently. It’s important to take the time to recover fully so that you can feel better physically and mentally. The doctor at the emergency room should be able to write you a note to excuse you from work for a few days so that you can recover from your experience.

Being drugged can be a scary, life-changing experience. Many people suffer huge mental and emotional consequences after being drugged. It can feel difficult to trust people and to feel safe. Going to a psychologist after being drugged to talk about the experience is important. You want to be sure that you seek the proper care.
